Muzio Clementi, Sonata n°44 Opus 10/1 in A Major (1783)
Wim Winters, Clavichord
World premiere of the 9 variations for keyboard on a theme from W.A.Mozart’s Serenade (Haffner) composed by Kostas Papazafeiropoulos for keyboard in 2017.
The work is dedicated to Caroline Haffner. Caroline Haffner is a direct descendant of the Haffner family for which Mozart wrote his work. The authograph of the work is personally given to the her by the composer during the Corfu Music festival in August 2017.

The fugue is an elegant translation of the pure mechanics of the left hand (Time) of the prelude. But strangely enough, Time cannot dance, it has a hard time (punch intended) to deviate from it’s rigidity which is imperative to inject movement with elegance. For that, it would need some human qualities which it hasn’t. Powerful, yes, but superior?
Not if we use it to our advantage!
hope you enjoy, and if you do, don’t forget to like and share it!
